Five things to take from Week 4

Five things to take from Week 4

Bailey Zappe has entered the Tom Brady arc. Or at least that’s what Patriots fans are praying for at this point. While it was impressive to go all the way to overtime at Lambeau Field, the New England Patriots are now 1-3. However, you all know my motto.

We have no other choice… but to move.

Week 4 was an eventful one for all. Let’s get into it.

1. The Miami Dolphins failed Tua Tagovailoa

Obviously, I’m not a doctor. But, who sees this and goes, “yeah he should play in three days.”

Forget three days, they put him back in the game immediately. And after that, he once again gets a head injury against the Bengals and it was extremely scary. Tua Tagovailoa is a promising young player, but these head injuries and negligence by the Dolphins could possibly put his career in jeopardy. Tua has been ruled out for this week against the Jets, but the NFLPA is investigating the concussion protocol used to clear the former Alabama star. I just hope he’s going to get back to 100% as soon as possible.

2. The Washington Commanders are in trouble

After beating the Jacksonville Jaguars by six points in their first game, the Commanders have lost three straight games. And none of those loses have shown any signs of positivity. In four weeks the Commanders have allowed the most sacks in the league (17), ranked 26th in total offense and are 29th in total defense. The Commanders next game you may ask? Derrick Henry and the Tennessee Titans. In addition, the Commanders will be without rookie wideout Jahan Dotson for the next two weeks due to a hamstring injury he suffered against the Cowboys. Terry McLaurin, after signing an extension this offseason, has not had a game with double-digit targets this year. He only had two catches for 15 yards during Sunday’s loss. They need to get him the ball immediately. But hey, at least the black jerseys are cool.

3. The Pittsburgh Steelers are in even more trouble

Let me just recap this Steelers season so far. The Pittsburgh Steelers are currently 1-3. After somehow pulling off a win in week 1 against the Bengals in overtime, they have lost three straight and they benched their starting quarterback.

First-round selection Kenny Pickett came on for the benched Mitch Trubisky. This was his stat line.

To be fair to him, he did have two rushing touchdowns but man that wasn’t fun to watch for any Steelers fan.

The Steelers are ranked 23rd in total offense, the 26th ranked passing offense and the 23rd ranked rushing offense.

The Steelers upcoming games you may ask? Away at Buffalo, home against the Buccaneers, away against the Dolphins and then at home against the Eagles.

I love Mike Tomlin as a coach, but I’ll be VERY surprised if this team makes the playoffs.

4. Is it time to start putting some respect on Jared Goff’s name?

Through four games the Detroit Lions are the highest scoring offense in the NFL. They are also first in passing touchdowns and second in rushing touchdowns. However, they are somehow 1-3. Here’s Goff’s stat line through four games this year.

Third in passing yards and tied for first in passing touchdowns. He threw for four on Sunday without both Amon-Ra St. Brown and D.J. Chark. The wins will come if he keeps playing like this.

5. Patrick Mahomes was making it look easy… again

After losing to Matt Ryan and the Colts last week, the Chiefs went on national television and showed the world why they have been an elite team for this long. This man Mahomes was just on a complete madness against one of the best defenses in the league.

They have a VERY hard schedule for the rest of the season but honestly, when you have Patrick Mahomes, anything is possible. They play the Raiders on Monday Night Football this week, they host Josh Allen and the Bills and then they travel to San Fransisco to play the 49ers.

The Philadelphia Eagles are the last remaining undefeated team in football, Javonte Williams is out for the year with a torn ACL and Bailey Zappe is possibly going to be starting a game for the Patriots this week. What a world we are living in right now as football fans. Also, Saquon Barkley is now leading the league in rushing yards. We love to see that. This is YSN, until next time, signing out.
