Five things to take from NFL Week 15

Five things to take from NFL Week 15

The full in-depth breakdowns are back. What a crazy week it has been in not only the NFL, but all sports. A lot of players and coaches going into health and safety protocols. I don’t know how the sports world is going to handle this situation the second time around, but I sure hope we don’t see any major postponements or suspended seasons. Well, we have some football to talk about. Let’s get into it.

Chiefs defeat Chargers in OT on Travis Kelce's 34-yard catch and run - The Boston Globe

1. Travis Kelce went ballistic

10 catches for 191 yards and two touchdowns. Including the game-winner in overtime. The Chiefs went to SoFi Stadium and handed it to the Chargers. Even though the Chargers went 2/5 on 4th down and basically fumbled the game away, the Chiefs handled business when they were called on. And now after all the chaos, take a wild guess who is sitting at the top of the AFC once again… The Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs remaining games are the Steelers (home), Bengals (away) and the Broncos (away). They aren’t “easy” games by any means, but are very winnable for this Chiefs team that has won seven straight. We’ll see how the final three go because they’ll be huge in this AFC playoff picture.

WATCH: Colts' Jonathan Taylor ices Patriots with 67-yard TD dagger

2. Jonathan Taylor has almost certainly locked up the Offensive Player of the Year award… MVP soon?

After getting shut out by the Saints on Sunday Night Football, Tom Brady’s lead on the MVP race became very close with the Colts standout back. Taylor put on a clinic against my New England Patriots, rushing for 170 yards on 29 carries and the game-winning touchdown. Taylor has the patient jump-cut running style that propelled Le’Veon Bell to the top of the league, but he’s faster and stronger than Bell ever was. This has been a historical season for Taylor and if he helps this Colts team to the playoffs, it is very possible that he could win MVP.

5 takeaways from the Lions' win over the Cardinals - Pride Of Detroit

3. THE LIONS??????????????

THE LIONS???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

How in the hell did this happen? Jared Goff went 21/26 for 216 yards, 3 touchdowns and no interceptions. HOW???? What happened to the Cardinals defense? Craig Reynolds ran the ball 26 times for 112 yards. WHO???? I don’t even know at this point man. The Jets beat the Titans and Bengals, the Lions beat the Cardinals and the Texans beat the Titans. Welcome to the National Football League.

Tyler Huntley Takes a 'Big Step' in Relief of Lamar Jackson vs. Packers

4. Tyler Huntley is a baller

28/40 for 215 yards and two passing touchdowns. Along with 73 rushing yards and two other touchdowns. Four total touchdowns and no turnovers against a 10-3 Green Bay Packers team. It’s so crazy to me how the Ravens have been able to keep fighting after losing so many of their key players this year. Mark Andrews is also another player who is can explode for a big game at any moment, hitting the 1,000 yard mark this weekend. He became the 13th Raven to ever reach 1,000 receiving yards in a season, but he is the first player at the tight end position to ever do it for the franchise. Lamar Jackson’s status is unknown for next week’s game against the Bengals, which will be HUGE for playoff implications. The Ravens are currently on a three game losing streak in which all three games have been decided by three points or less. After their game against the Bengals the Ravens will face the Rams and the Steelers to finish their season. They are currently sitting at 8-6 and in a heavily competitive AFC, they need to finish their season strong.

Led by Cam Jordan and brash secondary, Saints' D stuns Tom Brady, Bucs in shutout victory – The Athletic

5. The New Orleans Saints defense shut out Tom Brady

For the first time since 2006, Tom Brady was shut out. And the Saints weren’t quiet about it either, talking all the trash they could at any moment. I honestly don’t know why the Saints are Brady’s regular-season kryptonite, but he’s now 0-4 against them in the regular season with the Buccaneers. Losing Godwin for the rest of the regular season is definitely going to hurt, but getting Antonio Brown back from his suspension is most definitely going to help. The Saints are sitting at 7-7 right now with the Dolphins, Panthers and Falcons as their last three games. They could genuinely win all three and sneak into a wild-card spot, but we’ll have to wait and see. As for Brady and the defending champion Buccaneers, they play Carolina twice in the next three weeks and the Jets in between those two games.

We are technically not even done with this week since there are two games on Monday and Tuesday to play, but I still wanted to get this article out. My favorite albums of the year article is coming very soon and it’s going to be the biggest article of the year once again. I’m super excited to write it and I’m even more excited to see how the rest of the NFL season unfolds. Put your seatbelts on, it’s going to bet bumpy from here on out. This is YSN, until next time, signing out.
