Five things to take from NFL Week 11

Five things to take from NFL Week 11

Is the NFL on crack this year? We got teams getting upset like crazy, fake vaccinations and a Tim Boyle vs. Andy Dalton Thanksgiving game. God bless the NFL. Let’s get into it.

J.C. Jackson thinks Patriots have 'one of the best defenses in the league' after shutting out Falcons - masslive.com

1. Say hello to the best defense in the league

Now statistically the New England Patriots are the SECOND best defense, but they are the best fantasy defense so my bias will label them as first in every category. We have an elite player at almost every position. J.C. Jackson (a.k.a Mr. Int) at corner, Devin McCourty at safety, Dont’a Hightower at linebacker and Matt Judon as our edge rusher. J.C. is currently at 20 interceptions in the last three years, and three of them coming in the last three games. He’s a ball magnet and a shutdown corner in one, there’s a reason he’s leading the pro-bowl votes for corners in the AFC. Matt Judon is having a career year, already getting his career high in sacks (10.5) in only 11 games. He’s easily been our best free-agent acquisition this season. This next stretch of four games will be the most important of the year for the Patriots. The Pats currently sit at 7-4 and face off against the Titans (home), Bills (away on MNF), Colts (away on Saturday night) and the Bills again (home).

Houston Texans quarterback Tyrod Taylor's most spectacular plays vs. the Tennessee Titans | Week 11

2. What the hell is going on?

The Titans are currently 8-3. Two of their losses are to the New York Jets and now the Houston Texans. This comes after people started praising them and calling for them to be looked at as AFC contenders. With Bud Dupree going on IR and A.J. Brown dealing with his own injury problems, who knows what to expect from this Titans squad now. Hopefully they play as bad as they did last week against my Patriots this Sunday.

The Optimist: Cam Newton is back. Can he stay? - Cat Scratch Reader

3. Cam Newton is back.

Two weeks. Five total touchdowns. No turnovers. Despite the loss, Newton showed why he is still a QB1 in this league. This week against Miami will be very telling for the rest of their season. Either they set the tone by handing the Dolphins a clinic like they should, or the defense plays down to their competition like they did last week. For Cam’s sake I hope they hand the Dolphins a massive loss.

Jonathan Taylor For NFL MVP? Colts RB Stays Grounded After Record-Setting Win Over Bills

4. Jonathan Taylor is the TRUTH.

Jonathan Taylor is only 77 yards away from his rookie season rushing yards total. With six games left. Taylor & Co. walked in to the #1 defense in the league’s stadium and ran the ball down their throats. Taylor ran the ball 32 times for 185 yards and four touchdowns, totaling a whopping 54.3 fantasy points. Taylor currently leads the league in rushing and he is not going to look back any time soon. Two elite running backs in the AFC South? It’s looking like the word elite is going to be rightfully thrown around in Indiana pretty soon.

Chandler Jones Joins Defensive Player Of The Year Conversation

5. It seems that the Seahawks season is over

3-7 is something that all Seahawks fans did not expect to see through 11 weeks of this season. Including myself, I had this team winning the damn division. However, it’s hard to predict these type of things with injuries and even with Russ back this team does not look any sort of playoff quality. Especially in their division, it’s going to be twice as hard to even try to make a push. The question for the league is, is Russell Wilson going to leave his beloved Seattle this offseason? I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

Not a lot of things to say in this week’s closing paragraph. Everyone enjoy the best holiday of the year today. Eat a lot of food and watch a lot of football. We say a prayer for the city of Detroit, Michigan and now including this weeks prayer for all New York sports fans. Y’all know the drill. This is YSN, until next time, signing out.
