Five things to take from NFL Week 8

Five things to take from NFL Week 8

What an insane week for the NFL. Henry Ruggs decided to become the biggest idiot on planet earth, poor Malik Harrison got shot and Odell is getting told to leave practice two days in a row. While we obviously see the craziness, there’s one thing that stays constant. The football. Let’s get into it.

Cardinals Defender With Dirty Hit on Aaron Rodgers 😮 | Cardinals vs Packers - YouTube

1. Aaron Rodgers beat the undefeated Cardinals… and is also not vaccinated

I mean what an impressive win. To go in to State Farm Stadium and beat an undefeated red-hot Cardinals team without your best receiver, it just shows how great Aaron Rodgers truly is. You can argue that if A.J. Green’s controller didn’t die the Cardinals probably could’ve found a way to win. However, it is very impressive regardless. Rodgers will now have to watch the Packers vs. Chiefs game from home as he was put into health and safety protocols after testing positive for COVID-19. The earliest Rodgers can return to the field is November 13th, we’ll have to see how it plays out for the cheeseheads. For now it is the Jordan Love show.

Stephon Gilmore speaks out on what led to Patriots departure

2. Stephon Gilmore is back

This Panthers defense is crazy. Derrick Brown and Brian Burns holding up the defensive line, Shaq Thompson holding down the linebacker position and the insane corps of defensive backs that has this defense currently ranked 7th in the league. Let me just list the names. Donte Jackson, A.J. Bouye, C.J. Henderson and Jaycee Horn. That is a deep defensive back room that will now only get better with Gilmore’s presence. As he showed on his Panthers debut, Gilly Lock can make plays at any time. Just please God don’t let him win this weekend against the Patriots. Wish nothing but success for Gilmore, I’m just happy we got him a Super Bowl ring.

Detroit Lions | Bleacher Report | Latest News, Scores, Stats and Standings

3. The Detroit Lions might be the first team to ever go 0-17

That was bad. Really bad. The Lions went out and lost to the Philadelphia Eagles by a whopping score of 44-6. And at no point was this game close. All I have to say about this game is that Gardner Minshew got to snap the ball for the Eagles. And it wasn’t due to injury. The schedule does not get any easier for Detroit as they will be taking on the Steelers, Browns, Bears and Vikings in their next four games. We’ll see how Dan Campbell and his kneecap biting self will deal with this team.

How Mike White Changed the Jets Offense and Where Things Go From Here - Gang Green Nation

4. What the hell just happened??????

Mike White threw for 405 yards and three touchdowns in his first NFL start. Against the ninth best defense in the NFL. The Jets are playing tonight on Thursday Night Football in Indianapolis against the Colts. If he somehow manages to beat them too, the Zach Wilson backup talks will start flowing on those sports talk shows.

Cooper Rush's game-winning touchdown pass to Amari Cooper sets this strange NFL record for Cowboys - CBSSports.com

5. What the hell just happened????? Part 2

Like I said. What a week for the NFL. The Cooper to Cooper connection at the end was quite movie-like. Dak Prescott is looking like he’ll be returning to the field this week so we might be seeing the end of the Cooper Rush era. However, it was one hell of a ride. So far our boy Cooper Rush is 1-0 as a starter. I think he’ll like to keep it that way for now.

One last thing before we sign out here. Absolutely no bias when I say this by the way. At all. Damien Harris is the best running back in the league and Matt Judon is better than Lawrence Taylor. Let us pray for the citizens of Detroit, Michigan and Miami, Florida. Y’all know the drill. This is YSN, until next time, signing out.
