NFL Divisional Round Predictions

NFL Divisional Round Predictions

What a crazy weekend of football. The Steelers became a whole new level of meme, the Bears got scored on with slime on Nickelodeon, & Taylor Heinicke almost lead the Washington Football Team to an upset victory over the Buccaneers. It was heaven for us fans though, six NFL games over two days and then we watched Alabama & Devonta Smith completely dismantle the Ohio State Buckeyes. Now, it’s time to predict this divisional round. Let’s get into it.

Saturday Games

Studs and duds from Packers' come-from-behind win over 49ers

No. 6 Los Angeles Rams (11-5) at No. 1 Green Bay Packers (13-3)

This is going to be the best game of the week in my opinion. You have the #1 offense in the Packers going up against the #1 defense in the Rams. You have arguably the best wide receiver and cornerback in the game in Davante Adams and Jalen Ramsey going head to head as well too. This game depends on one person for me, and that is Aaron Donald. After suffering a rib injury in last weeks game against the Seahawks, Donald is expected to make his return this Saturday. With the loss of star left tackle David Bakhtiari to a torn ACL, you already know that front line of Leonard Floyd, Aaron Donald, & Michael Brockers are going to get after Aaron Rodgers. If Aaron Rodgers is able to get the ball out quickly and Aaron Jones & Jamaal Williams start to establish the run early, then I can see the Packers running away with this one. After a relatively slow game last week, Jared Goff is going to need to step up his game this week to give his team a chance. Regardless of how well the defense does, at some point the offense is going to have to put up some points on the board to have a chance at upsetting the #1 seed in the conference. And in that case, I just don’t see Jared Goff with his broken thumb leading this offense to a victory.

Final Score: Packers 22, Rams 13

Watch Lamar Jackson run in a 48-yard touchdown in Ravens vs. Titans playoff game [VIDEO] - DraftKings Nation

No. 5 Baltimore Ravens (11-5) at No. 2 Buffalo Bills (13-3)

Both teams showed the heart and the firepower to go out and make a case to dethrone the Kansas City Chiefs as AFC Champions this year. Both quarterbacks, Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson, are on absolute fire and defense have not seemed to find the solution. Allen last game went for 324 yards and 2 TDs last game against a good defense in the Colts with no interceptions. Allen’s chemistry with the league-leading receiver in catches and yards in Stefon Diggs is what I believe has gotten this team to where they are today. However a major loss for the offense is power running back Zack Moss, as he fractured his ankle last week in the win against Indianapolis. This is such a big loss because it almost makes the Bills a one-dimensional offense. With the Ravens #2 ranked defense holding Derrick Henry to under 50 yards last week, running the ball will be even harder without Moss. On the other side of the ball, the Ravens are coming in to this game fully healthy coming off a six game winning streak. Lamar Jackson will have this game in his hands against the 17th ranked rush defense in the league. Once again I’m going with the Ravens in this one, the take about Lamar in the playoffs is officially over and I can’t see the Bills not being able to run the ball and win against the team. It’s gonna be a close one, but I gotta go with Baltimore here.

Final Score: Ravens 20, Bills 17

Sunday Games

Watch Patrick Mahomes' 69-yard TD pass to Tyreek Hill | The Kansas City Star

No. 6 Cleveland Browns (11-5) at No. 1 Kansas City Chiefs (14-2)

This will be a very interesting game to watch. The Browns are coming off the complete and utter embarrassment of the Pittsburgh Steelers and are getting all their coaches back on the sideline for this week. They are also getting back Pro Bowl left guard Joel Bitonio and their #1 cornerback Denzel Ward back from the COVID-19 list to prepare for the biggest game of their year. The Chiefs however are reigning Super Bowl champions with an abundance of weapons for their MVP quarterback Patrick Mahomes. The highest paid player in NFL history, is exactly that for a reason. His ability to change the game at any given time is incredible. This game is going to depend on how the Browns defense can hold up against this Chiefs team and how the Chiefs can contain running backs Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt. A setback for the Chiefs is the loss of wideout Sammy Watkins and Clyde Edwards-Helaire, who are key components to the offense. However, I just can’t see the Chiefs losing this weekend. It’ll be close, but I have to go here with Kansas City.

Final Score: Chiefs 33, Browns 17

Buccaneers | WFLA

No. 5 Tampa Bay Buccaneers (11-5) at No. 2 New Orleans Saints (12-4)

The battle of the oldest people in the league. Tom Brady (43) and Drew Brees (42) square off in what will most-likely be their last matchup ever this Sunday night. However, this year the Saints seem to be the Buccaneers kryptonite as they’ve lost to them twice this year already. Both times the Saints have found ways to shut down the Bucs offense and to use their greatest weapon, Alvin Kamara, to their advantage. This however is a different type of game on Sunday. This is Tom Brady in the playoffs, and frankly I don’t think he’s going to lose this one. With Devin White coming back and the offense almost fully healthy (with the exception of Ronald Jones), the Buccaneers are going to walk into the Superdome and take this game away from the Saints. With Antonio Brown, Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, and Rob Gronkowski all healthy and ready to go I see the Bucs taking people by surprise this postseason. A huge factor will be how the Bucs O-line will be able to handle the Saints front seven protecting Brady and if that doesn’t hold up then the game will get away from them. However, I think they’ll get to Drew Brees with Devin White back and they’ll upset the Saints.

Final Score: Buccaneers 28, Saints 23
