While the world is currently ending, there is not very much to be excited about as sports fans. To be honest, 2020 has been extremely shit. The sports world lost the greatest Laker of all time Kobe Bryant to a tragic accident, Pop Smoke was taken abruptly from his seat at the throne of NYC drill at only 20 years old, and then the world stopped due to the corona virus outbreak. It has been a pretty awful year. However, there is one thing that 95% of American males look forward to every April. To boo Roger Goodell as he steps on the podium to announce the start of the NFL Draft. Now let’s get to mocking.
1. Cincinnati Bengals: Joe Burrow QB, LSU
Last year’s Heisman winner is the #1 pick in this years draft. 60 TDs in 15 games against teams like Florida, Alabama, Texas, Georgia, Oklahoma, and Clemson. Burrow has gone out and proven himself time and time again that he is ready for the big stage. The Bengals are coming off four straight losing seasons and are ready for a big change. With the signings of DT D.J. Reader, SS Vonn Bell, and CB Trae Waynes, the Bengals went to work on their defense in Free Agency. Burrow’s weapons include, AJ Green, Tyler Boyd, Auden Tate, John Ross III, C.J. Uzomah, and Joe Mixon. A pretty solid core surrounding a rookie if you ask me. The only “if” is if they can stay healthy.
2. Washington Redskins: Chase Young DE, Ohio State
When you break the single-season sack record for Ohio State, you’re going to get noticed. A school that has produced both Bosa brothers, Will Smith, and Vernon Gholston, Chase Young worked his way up to the top of the draft boards after a historic season. This wasn’t my preferred pick at first, as I think the Redskins need an OT, however with Kerrigan getting up in age I feel as if the Redskins could use a staple edge-rusher in their defense. Born and raised in Maryland, this would be the second year in a row the R-Words used their first rounder on someone from their state (Dwayne Haskins 2019).
Fan Opinion: Khalil Snekcim
I think the best pick for the redskins would honestly be Chase Young. I’m an Ohio State fan so I like to see players from my college team go to my NFL team. Adding Chase Young to the roster would improve our D-line even though it’s already decent I think young can improve it a little more and add some dominance to the pass rush.

3. (TRADE) Los Angeles Chargers: Justin Herbert QB, Oregon
I think the Chargers jump up three spots to take their QB of the future, Justin Herbert. Miami is at pick #5 and in order to secure the rights to Herbert I think that the Chargers are willing to trade up for him. After parting way with long time Charger Philip Rivers, the Chargers need a new quarterback to step in and lead the offense. Head coach Anthony Lynn has been quoted saying he loves Tyrod Taylor, however I could see Herbert starting off the season on the bench while they experiment with Tyrod at the helm. This would give Herbert valuable time to sit back and learn the offense and ease into the position.
4. New York Giants: Tristan Wirfs OT, Iowa
6’5″ 322 lbs, 4.85 40-Yard dash, and 24 bench press reps. Tristan Wirfs is the exact lineman that the Giants need to protect last years first round pick, Daniel Jones. Wirfs is a massive unit that can replace the aging Nate Solder on Jones’ blindside. With Mekhi Becton’s drug test flagged for a diluted sample, I can see the Giants taking their cornerstone tackle for years to come at this pick.
5. Miami Dolphins: Tua Tagovailoa QB, Alabama
In 24 games in the last two years Tua Tagovailoa has thrown for 76 TDs and 9 INTs. No matter where you play, that is special. With the Dolphins coming off a year where their two quarterbacks were Ryan Fitzpatrick and Josh Rosen, they need a young QB to come step in and change their offense. Tua would be stepping in to a QB room with a veteran presence in Fitzpatrick and a young core surrounding him on the offensive side of the ball. DeVante Parker, Preston Williams, and Mike Gesicki are all young players who have shown promise last year. After going absolutely ballistic in Free Agency this offseason, the Dolphins still have two more picks after #5 in the first round of this years draft. Never thought I’d say this, but this is an exciting time to be a Dolphins fan.
6. (TRADE) Detroit Lions: Jeff Okudah CB, Ohio State
The Lions trade back and still get their shutdown corner. After trading away disgruntled corner Darius Slay to the Eagles, the Lions are in need of a replacement. 34 tackles, 3 interceptions, and 9 passes defend is just an example of the dominance Okudah had on receivers across the country last year. 41″ vertical, 4.48 40-yard dash, and a first-team All-American, Okudah is the Lions guy.
7. Carolina Panthers: Isaiah Simmons LB/S, Clemson
This is an obvious pick for me. After losing 7x Pro-Bowler Luke Kuechly to an unexpected retirement, the Panthers are in need of another linebacker. However, Simmons can also play over the top at safety for the Panthers. Simmons ran a 4.39 40-yard dash at 6’4″ 238 lbs, an absolute freak athlete. To me, there’s no other pick for the Panthers if Simmons falls to them.
Fan Opinion: Terrell Byrd
I got my Carolina panthers drafting Isiah Simmons at pick 7 as we very much need a dominant defensive presence. Especially with Luke Kuechly retiring unexpectedly the need at linebacker is pressing. Simmons might be the most versatile athlete in draft history and with that ability nobody can predict his potential and impact in an NFL scheme.

8. Arizona Cardinals: Jedrick Willis Jr. OT, Alabama
This year’s draft is loaded with offensive line talent, and Jedrick Willis is one of the players that stand out. A two-year starter at Alabama, Willis has anchored an Alabama O-Line that has been unstoppable. With the Cardinals trading for DeAndre Hopkins this offseason, I can see them trying to protect their Rookie of the Year Kyler Murray’s blindside with this pick.
9. Jacksonville Jaguars: C.J. Henderson CB, Florida
After trading away one of the best corners in the league last year and then trading away A.J. Bouye this offseason, the Jaguars will definitely be looking for a replacement. They won’t have to look far, as they’ll pick Florida corner C.J. Henderson. Henderson has been rising up draft boards after impressing scouts with a 4.39 40-yard dash. Henderson will join a Jaguars team that is seemingly trading away everyone, but will bounce back with a solid draft with 12 total picks and six in the first four rounds. The Jaguars pick again at pick #20 so you’ll see them one more time in this article.
10. Cleveland Browns: Mekhi Becton OT, Louisville
After a horrendous season last year, the Browns need to re-focus and help their young QB out. After running for his life almost all of last year, the Browns went out and signed OT Jack Conklin to a three-year deal and signed TE Austin Hooper. To solidify the offense, I see the Browns drafting Becton to secure Mayfield’s blindside. This will give the Heisman winner time to throw to his many weapons on offense. We have to wait and see if new coach Kevin Stefanski is a good head coach or another Freddie Kitchens.
11. New York Jets: CeeDee Lamb WR, Oklahoma
And the first receiver goes off the board at #11. An insanely stacked WR class gets off to a good start with one of the most electric players in all of college football last year, CeeDee Lamb. 62 Catches for 1327 yards and 14 TDs in only 13 games. The Jets lost Rodney Anderson to Carolina this offseason and they desperately need a WR1 that can stretch the field for Sam Darnold. I can also see them taking Jeudy or Ruggs, but if I was a Jets fan I would want Lamb due to his ability to extend the play after he catches the ball.
Fan Opinion: Walter Reyes
I got the Jets going with Alabama WR Jerry Jeudy. We do need a tackle badly and this draft is deep with receivers but we need a #1 day 1 because our best receiver as of right now is Jamison Crowder. We really haven’t had a 1000 yard receiver since Brandon Marshall in 2015 so this is my #1 priority.
Everyone tell Walter to reactivate his Instagram.
12. Las Vegas Raiders: Jerry Jeudy WR, Alabama
The Las Vegas Raiders… it feels weird to say that. However, this is Derek Carr’s last chance in my opinion. He has the tools around him, a solid TE in Darren Waller, a future star RB in Josh Jacobs, and if they draft Jeudy they’d had a great passing attack. The Raiders WR room would be Tyrell Williams, Nelson Agholor, Jerry Jeudy, Zay Jones, & Hunter Renfrow. That should be a good enough corps to at least compete for a wild-card spot in the AFC West. I could also see the Raiders going DT with this pick but I think they need to go all for this year and Jeudy would provide that offensive spark that might be the solution to Derek Carr’s struggles.
13. (TRADE) Denver Broncos: Henry Ruggs III WR, Alabama
Yes I did just do that. Three straight receivers. Let me tell you why. The Broncos are all in on Drew Lock and his resurgence of the Broncos towards the end of the year winning four out of their last five shows the promise that Lock has. Now the Broncos need a wideout to be able to stretch the field and provide better options to work running backs Phillip Lindsay and newly acquired Melvin Gordon out the backfield as both running and pass-catching options. Longtime friends John Elway and John Lynch can definitely possible work out a trade for this pick right here because the Broncos need a fast WR. Ruggs is that guy. Every 4th catch he had was a TD. Don’t even have to say no more.
14. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Andrew Thomas OT, Georgia
This offseason the Bucs have basically grabbed my heart and Hulk smashed a hammer on it. Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski have both joined from the Patriots and are giving Bucs fans genuine hope that they can be the first team to play the Super Bowl in their home stadium. I got Andrew Thomas going to them to give Brady another big body to protect him. Brady is going to be 43 in August so I’m assuming they don’t want him taking too many big hits, Thomas will definitely help with that.
15. (TRADE) San Fransisco 49ers: Justin Jefferson WR, LSU
The 49ers trade down two spots and still get one of the best WRs in college football last year. Justin Jefferson exploded late last year going off with 14 catches for 227 yards and 4 TDs in the CFB Playoff Semifinal last year against Oklahoma. Jefferson finished the year with 111 catches for 1,540 yards and 18 TDs in 15 games. And those are his numbers even with being on the same time as Biletnikoff award winner Ja’Marr Chase. Jefferson is a special player, and with the 49ers looking to actively trade WR Marquise Goodwin, Jefferson could step in immediately to be a downfield weapon for QB Jimmy Garroppolo.
16. Atlanta Falcons: Javon Kinlaw DT, South Carolina
The Falcons strengthen their interior by pairing Grady Jarrett with South Carolina DT Javon Kinlaw. Kinlaw is a dominant force against the run while also giving you production with sack numbers (6 last year). Standing at 6’6″ and 310 lbs, Kinlaw will be a force to be reckoned with in the NFL.
17. Dallas Cowboys: Xavier McKinney S, Alabama
This would be the fifth Alabama player taken in the top 20. After losing starting safety Jeff Heath to the Raiders, the Cowboys will look to replace him with a day-1 starter in McKinney. McKinney is an all-around safety and can be an asset in any defensive package. Last year he had 95 total tackles, 3 sacks, and 3 INTs. He’ll be able to step in and impact immediately.
18. Miami Dolphins: Josh Jones OT, Houston
After drafting their franchise QB at pick #5, the Dolphins take an offensive tackle off the board to help protect him. Jones is a massive unit, standing at 6’5″ and weighing in at about 310 lbs he has the potential to be an anchor for the Dolphins O-Line.
19. Las Vegas Raiders: Derrick Brown, Auburn
With their second pick in the first round, the Raiders beef up their interior with an absolute stud in Derrick Brown. Brown’s case is a weird one, because he can definitely go in the top 10 or drop down this low just depending on what teams pick between their needs or best player available. Brown was a leader of Auburns defense and has the potential to be in NFL quarterbacks nightmares for a long time.
20. Jacksonville Jaguars: K’Lavon Chaisson OLB, LSU
With their second pick in the first round the Jaguars select K’Lavon Chaisson. Chaisson is a dominating presence on the edge recording 6.5 sacks and 13.5 TFLs last year at LSU. Chaisson could step in and replace Yannick Ngakoue, who is looking for a trade out of Jacksonville. The Jags have a lot of picks in this draft and I can see them coming out with one of the best drafts.
21. Philadelphia Eagles: Grant Delpit S, LSU
After losing Captain and defensive leader Malcolm Jenkins, the Eagles need a safety. Grant Delpit can be their next big playmaker at safety. The Eagles secondary has been the butt of jokes for a while, but with Delpit the Eagles would be getting a player who can make plays in the run game while protecting the over the top throws. With 7 picks in his last two seasons, Delpit knows how to attack the football and the Eagles desperately need that.
22. Minnesota Vikings: Jaylon Johnson CB, Utah
After losing both Xavier Rhodes and Trae Waynes this offseason, Mike Zimmer and the Vikings need DBs. Jaylon Johnson is the tall cornerback build that Mike Zimmer usually goes after. With 6 picks and 15 passes defended in the last two years, Johnson has shown that he has the potential to become a shutdown corner in the NFL. To make it almost guaranteed, the Vikings have already stated their increased interest in Johnson.
23. New England Patriots: Patrick Queen OLB, LSU
After losing both Kyle Van Noy and Jamie Collins this offseason, the Patriots desperately need a pass coverage linebacker. After watching Patrick Queen this year at LSU he is a tenacious defender with a knack for where the ball is at all times. His 12 TFLs and 3 sacks last year speak for themselves. Queen ran a 4.5 40-yard dash at the combine, ranking #4 among linebackers. This is the perfect fit for Patriots as he could learn under two-time Pro Bowl linebacker Dont’a Hightower.
24. New Orleans Saints: Kristian Fulton CB, LSU
Another member of LSU’s national championship winning team is off the board. The Saints lost Vonn Bell, Eli Apple, and P.J. Williams this offseason so a young CB is definitely needed. Fulton ran a 4.46 40-yard dash at the combine, showing the speed to keep up in the NFL.
25. Minnesota Vikings: Laviska Shenault WR, Colorado
After trading away Stefon Diggs to Buffalo this offseason, the Vikings get right to replacing him with Laviska Shenault. Shenault has been an explosive receiver for the Buffaloes the past two years racking up 40 TDs and 1,765 yards. He was first team All-Pac-12 and led the FBS with 9.6 receptions. Shenault also ran a 4.58 40-yard dash at the combine while nursing a core-muscle injury so he’s even fast while hurt. Kirk Cousins new weapon will be terrorizing NFC North secondary’s for a while.
26. Miami Dolphins: D’Andre Swift RB, Georgia
With their third pick in the first round the Dolphins pick up a running back to pair alongside new free agent acquisition Jordan Howard. Swift is a duel-threat running back with ability to impact the game as a runner and a pass-catcher. With their new young team, the Dolphins are looking to have a promising 2020, if there is a season *deep sigh*.
27. Seattle Seahawks: Yetur Gross-Matos DE, Penn State
After losing Jadeveon Clowney (maybe??), the Seahawks take an athletic freak on the edge in Yetur Gross-Matos. Gross-Matos is an absolute machine racking up over 34.5 TFLs and 17 sacks over the last two years. With his 6’5″ 264 frame, he can immediately step in and replace Clowney for the Seahawks.
28. Baltimore Ravens: Kenneth Murray LB, Oklahoma
The Ravens have been needing a leader at the middle linebacker spot since CJ Mosley left to New York in 2018, and Kenneth Murray fits that build. Last year Murray had 102 total tackles and 17 of them were TFLs, showing his ability to find the ball. Murray also ran a 4.5 40-yard dash showcasing his elite speed at the position. This would be a perfect fit for the Ravens in my opinion.
29. Tennessee Titans: Jeff Gladney CB, TCU
After losing Logan Ryan in free agency the Titans add a talented corner in Jeff Gladney. The Titans still have Adoree’ Jackson and Malcolm Butler, but Gladney (6’1″) brings height to the position and would be able to defend long jump balls better with his 4.48 40-yard dash and 37.5″ vertical.
30. Green Bay Packers: Jalen Reagor WR, TCU
Two straight Horned Frogs players go back-to-back in the draft with Jalen Reagor heading over to the land of the cheese. Reagor gives the Packers their best slot option since Randall Cobb in his prime. To put Reagor with Davante Adams and Devin Funchess would be a great receiving corps to give Aaron Rodgers a chance to have another MVP season.
31. San Fransisco 49ers: Antoine Winfield Jr. S, Minnesota
The son of three-time Pro-Bowler Antoine Winfield has a chance to become the second first round selection in the family. Winfield Jr. had an incredible year as Minnesota surprised everyone by ending the year at #18 in the final rankings. Winfield was the anchor of the defense, finishing the year with 7 INTs and 83 total tackles. With the 49ers looking to trade Jaquiski Tartt, Winfield Jr. can step in and have an impact immediately.
32. Kansas City Chiefs: Ezra Cleveland OT, Boise State
With the last pick in the first round the defending champs select Ezra Cleveland. Cleveland is a solid tackle who will beef up the Chiefs O-Line in order to protect former MVP Patrick Mahomes. With Eric Fisher and Mitchell Schwartz both vets, Cleveland can study under them while also impacting on the field.
And that is it ladies and gentlemen, my 2020 Mock Draft. Last but not least, thank God for sports.
