Five things to take from Week 6

Five things to take from Week 6

If you’re Zappe and you know it, clap your hands!

What an electric win for the boys. Zappe wheeling and dealing while the defense forced four turnovers and held league leader Nick Chubb to 56 rushing yards on the day. While it might’ve been the highlight of my NFL Sunday, there was a lot more action around the league. Let’s get into it.

1. Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase are still like that

Especially whenever they play in the Superdome in New Orleans. The Bengals jumped to 3-3 on the season as they beat the Andy Dalton-led New Orleans Saints 30-26. Burrow and Chase showed that they are still elite as Burrow threw for 300 yards and three touchdowns while Chase caught seven passes for 132 yards and two touchdowns. The Bengals will host the 3-3 Atlanta Falcons next Sunday, which could prove to be a bigger test than expected considering their win against the 49ers.

2. The New York Jets are 4-2

Walking into Lambeau Field and holding Aaron Rodgers to 10 points is not something that is done very often. The New York Jets went to Green Bay with a game plan and executed it perfectly. Run the damn football and get after the guy wearing #12 on the other team. The Jets sacked Aaron Rodgers four times, forced an A.J. Dillon fumble, returned a blocked punt for a touchdown and held the Packers to 4/16 on third down. Now they didn’t have an offensive masterclass, as Zach Wilson didn’t throw any touchdowns and only 110 yards, but they ran the ball well and didn’t turnover the rock. Rookie Breece Hall showcased his talents yet again running for 116 yards and a touchdown, strengthening his case for Offensive Rookie of the Year. I’m loving this Jets team, they just need to chill out a little bit for the Patriots first though.

3. The Arizona Cardinals need to pick it up

The potential this team has is crazy, but they are playing like they don’t know what they are doing sometimes. Now to be fair to them, three of their four losses have come against the Chiefs, Rams and Eagles, but they just need to be better on the offensive side of the ball. Yesterday, against a Seahawks defense that just gave up 30+ to Andy Dalton, they went 4/16 on third down and didn’t score a touchdown. That’s just not good enough. They are sitting at 2-4, last in the NFC West, and are possibly looking at losing Marquise Brown for the rest of the season. On a positive note, DeAndre Hopkins will be back this week against the Saints on Thursday night football and they just traded for Robbie Anderson.

4. The Patriots are flying high… for now

Tyquan Thornton can move man. Look at how he completely dusts the whole Browns defense on this play.

The Patriots defense showed out again forcing four turnovers and holding Nick Chubb to only 56 rushing yards. Next week the Patriots will host Justin Fields and the Bears on Monday Night Football. A big opportunity to go over .500 on the year and another chance for the defense to make some noise. Let’s get it boys.

5. The Minnesota Vikings have quietly climbed to 5-1

NFC North favorites? It’s sure looking like it right now. Kirk Cousins and the Vikings have found themselves at 5-1 and the current leaders of the NFC North. Now, do I believe that this team will make a deep playoff run? No. I don’t think Kirk Cousins is capable of that. However, I do think that they can hold on to this division title considering the state of the other teams they are up against. They have a pretty difficult schedule coming up, facing teams like the Cardinals, Bills and Cowboys, but they have the offensive fire power to compete. In all five of their wins they have scored at least 23 points, it’s just up to Kirk Cousins whether he can show up when the lights are on or not.

And that will wrap up this wild week six. For the love of God, please pray that the Cardinals vs. Saints Thursday Night game will be better than what we have been watching these past couple Thursdays. Feed everyone Zappe meals and please someone get Tom Brady and Gisele a marriage counseling session. This is YSN, until next time, signing out.
